IBM to Invest in Delivery and Support of SAP Applications on System z Mainframe
IBM announced that it intends to invest in IBM System z Technology Centers
for SAP Applications, which support IBM's new System z9 Advantage for
SAP Applications. The System z9 Advantage for SAP Applications is a series
of offerings for customers deploying SAP applications on the IBM System z9 mainframe, and is intended to benefit customers planning to install or upgrade to SAP NetWeaver-based applications. Designed to help improve price performance for large and medium-sized customers, the offerings can leverage the IBM System z9 mainframe System z Integrated Information Processor (zIIP) for data-centric applications, the IBM DB2 database, and the services and offerings from
IBM System z9 Technology Centers and IBM Global Technology Services.
BusinessObjects Data Quality XI Helps Enterprises Standardize Data on a Single Platform
Business Objects launched BusinessObjects Data Quality XI, a suite of products that integrates with SAP solutions and builds on the data quality solutions acquired from FirstLogic, Inc. The suite is designed to help organizations define data quality standards, create company-wide business rules using a centralized business rule repository, and access and share the rules repository through a service-oriented architecture. Data Quality XI provides a scalable platform designed to help customers ensure data quality practices within and across enterprise applications, regulatory compliance programs, and international
operations, enabling companies to provide trusted data for business intelligence, reporting, and performance management initiatives.
Celequest and Bristlecone Partner to Deliver

SAP NetWeaver BI
Operational business intelligence provider Celequest and extended supply chain solution consultant Bristlecone have partnered to deliver LAVA QuickStart for SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence (SAP NetWeaver BI), a scalable analysis solution designed to give SAP NetWeaver BI customers up-to-the-minute business information. Combining Celequest's LAVA Enterprise Edition with Bristlecone's SAP solution implementation expertise, the solution includes the development
and deployment of a performance dashboard with key metrics built on top of
SAP NetWeaver BI. The joint offering is designed to give customers continuous access to SAP NetWeaver BI-supplied transactional and operational data via
intuitive, self-service dashboards.
HP and SAP Will Offer Central Print Management Capabilities to SAP NetWeaver Customers
HP and SAP AG announced that SAP will use HP output management technology to offer central print management capabilities to SAP NetWeaver customers, improving the reliability of print output in document-dependent business processes across SAP application landscapes. The central print management capabilities are designed to help SAP customers define, manage, and track document delivery for business-critical processes from a single location. The companies will also jointly develop SAP NetWeaver output management Web services interfaces to help customers streamline print and output management, optimize printer use, and manage information across their SAP system more reliably.
