When it comes to education and training, we’ve found that SAP customers gravitate toward customer-delivered content. SAP professionals find great value in networking, sharing insights, addressing challenges, and exchanging tips with peers who’ve worked on similar projects and shared similar experiences.
Accordingly, the Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) delivers year-round, customer-driven education. In 2008, nearly 20,000 ASUG members participated in over 1,700 virtual and face-to-face educational sessions throughout the year. What follows is a quick rundown of our upcoming 2009 activities.
The ASUG Virtual Education Summit
This fall, ASUG will hold the first ASUG Virtual Education Summit, September 9-10, 2009. Attendees will enjoy cutting-edge technology through a virtual exhibit hall, ASUG Special Interest Group (SIG) Community booths and sponsor areas, and more than 150 educational sessions with live Q&A (see sidebar). There will also be face-to-face, follow-up opportunities for Special Interest Groups and select ASUG chapters throughout the US and Canada. ASUG at SAP TechEd 2009
ASUG will continue the momentum in customer-driven education this fall at SAP TechEd, October 13-16, 2009, in Phoenix, Arizona. ASUG Fall Focus Technology sessions at SAP TechEd will offer over 100 hours of member-driven information featuring real-world insights and advice from ASUG members. This educational content is designed to deliver best practices that help fellow users drive business results. In ASUG customer sessions, SAP TechEd attendees will discover strategies and techniques from users who have had similar experiences.

The SAP BusinessObjects User Conference
This fall, the Global BusinessObjects Network (GBN) will also deliver customer-driven content at the SAP BusinessObjects User Conference, October 18-21, 2009, in Dallas, Texas. SAP BusinessObjects portfolio users who are not SAP ERP customers are encouraged to attend this event, which features more than 150 breakout sessions and multiple hands-on labs and solution demonstrations.
The program will include sessions on enterprise performance management (EPM) and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), in addition to more in-depth content on SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, Xcelsius software, and universes.
