Top SAP Partners Help Customers Run Simpler

SAP Honors Leading Partners with the 2014 SAP Pinnacle Awards

by Steve Graham | SAPinsider, Volume 15, Issue 4

October 1, 2014

SAP partners play an integral role in helping SAP customers run better using SAP solutions, and each year, SAP recognizes the contributions of its top partners through the SAP Pinnacle Awards. Learn which companies excelled in 2014 at enabling customers to not only run better, but run simpler.

SAP is charting a course to help simplify business and technology to improve people’s lives. It is a bold vision that starts with creating software solutions that are user friendly and easy to integrate, but also quickly deliver business results. Fulfilling this vision requires more than great software. It entails inventive thinking to help companies develop new approaches, different business models, and a deep understanding of business priorities and challenges.

SAP partners are integral to this vision. They help deliver the technological innovation, business insight, and creative thinking that is vital to  SAP achieving its goal of being “the cloud company powered by SAP HANA.” Each year, SAP recognizes the contributions of its top partners through the SAP Pinnacle Awards. In 2014, our award winners exemplify the important role that partners play in helping simplify business and technology. From our partner ecosystem of over 11,700 companies, SAP selected 17 organizations across 21 categories to receive an SAP Pinnacle Award. See Figure 1 for a list of the categories and winners.

The Focus on Cloud

SAP is placing a keen focus on fostering a vibrant partner community around the cloud.1 This year, we honored three leading partners with SAP Pinnacle Awards in cloud-based categories:

  • Seidor Crystalis: Cloud Value-Added Reseller of the Year
  • ROC Group: New Cloud Value-Added Reseller of the Year
  • Accenture: Cloud Services Provider of the Year

These partners helped SAP expand its market presence across industries and geographies, providing innovative, cloud-based solutions with a high-market impact that exceeded customer expectations. However, the impact of the cloud goes well beyond these three awards — nearly all of the SAP Pinnacle Award recipients are currently extending their relationships with SAP in the cloud area.

Embracing the SAP Platforms

Another theme common across almost all of the award categories is that of top SAP partners embracing the SAP platforms.2 They are developing solutions that solve customers’ specific business problems — from needing to streamline very complex data analysis processes, to enabling simple process automation for small departments. In 2014, SAP recognized three partners for their exemplary efforts to embrace development on the SAP platforms:

  • Arteria Technologies: Application Development Partner of the Year
  • Capgemini: SAP HANA Adoption Partner of the Year
  • HP: Platform Co-Innovation Partner of the Year
Customer-Centric Thinking

Top SAP partners focus on exceeding customer expectations. They provide unique expertise that comes from a detailed understanding of customers’ specific business challenges, and an ability to address those challenges with their technology and business-process acumen. With a customer-centric way of thinking, these partners provide customers with solutions that not only fit their budgets and implementation time frames, but achieve high user adoption and usability.

“Customers want simple, and SAP Pinnacle Award winners are answering the call,” says Rodolpho Cardenuto, President of Global Partner Operations at SAP. SAP added the Customers’ Choice award to the program this year, providing customers with a special opportunity to nominate partners that have helped transform their business. The response was overwhelming: Customers submitted more than 40 compelling nominations.

After carefully reviewing the nominations, a judging panel consisting of senior SAP executives and an industry analyst selected our winner: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Nominated by AGL, an Australian electricity and natural gas service provider, TCS earned the achievement by helping AGL centralize meter data, resulting in faster and more detailed reporting that the company is expecting will help it achieve US$15.2 million in benefits over the next five years.3 The implementation is a strong example of how SAP partners can help customers simplify the adoption of new innovations and reap business benefits.

Simply the Best

SAP Pinnacle Award winners are critical allies in the battle to fight complexity in business technology. Their leading-edge initiatives and strong focus on exceeding customer expectations are key ingredients in helping SAP transform its business to become the cloud company powered by SAP HANA, and helping customers run simpler.
