Enterprise software is quickly changing, and so is the way it is being deployed. In the past, ERP solutions were considered complex and expensive to implement. SAP, however, offers a variety of deployment options that now allow companies of all sizes to benefit from innovative technology.
SAP Best Practices is a packaged solution deployment approach that combines best practices for business processes and technical designs into flexible templates that can be rapidly activated in SAP systems. Companies can benefit from proven processes using the detailed guides, deployable configuration, and expert documentation that make up SAP Best Practices. Customers can download these packages for free from the SAP Service Marketplace and can find further tailored support from SAP and partners.
Proven Benefits and Acceleration
As technology innovations such as in-memory, cloud, and mobile have grown the SAP solution portfolio at a breakneck speed, packaged solutions have kept pace to simplify the deployment of these new capabilities. In an ongoing survey conducted by SAP on the use of packaged SAP Best Practices and SAP Rapid Deployment solutions, more than 750 users from SAP customer and consultant organizations shared their insight on the benefit and value gained by leveraging the packages for both core SAP solutions and new innovation deployments. While 48% of the respondents largely used SAP ERP packages, 62% also leveraged innovation packages such as cloud integration, SAP HANA, and user experience.
Survey responses indicated that SAP Best Practices and SAP Rapid Deployment solutions are leveraged for all implementation scenarios, accelerating time to value and providing tangible benefits such as lower costs, decreased effort, and accelerated timelines (see Figure 1).
Embedded in SAP S/4HANA
With SAP Business Suite 4 SAP HANA (SAP S/4HANA), SAP applications have made a major leap forward. The same can be said for deployment approaches, as SAP has developed a new methodology for SAP S/4HANA called SAP Activate. This consumption experience embeds the content, benefits, and lessons learned from more than 15 years of packaged SAP Best Practices with a methodology for innovation adoption, allowing companies to pursue implementations, enhancements, and upgrades with more agility and speed.
