3D Digital Fabrication Laboratory in Barcelona: Create your own piece for the exhibit!

by Teri Chadbourne

July 14, 2010

Looking for something interesting to do in Barcelona before or after Financials 2010, HR 2010, GRC 2010, and Reporting, Planning & Analysis 2010?  Check out the interactive Fabrication Laboratory at Design Hub Barcelona to explore new scenarios in 3D design and production.  The permanent exhibition FULL PRINTE3D introduces additive manufacturing (in layman's terms, 3D printing), which is revolutionizing prototyping and production in fields from medicine to construction.  The museum's fabrication laboratory will allow visitors to use software (either in person at the museum or downloaded from the DHUB FAB website) to design their own 3D pieces that will then be printed by the lab and added to a collective piece called CCloud (Collaborative Cloud) that is on display at the museum.

DHUB Montcada is just 6 kilometers from the Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona and can be reached by metro or bus.  Please visit the museum's info page for directions, hours (open on weekends!) and pricing (just 5 Euro!).

Coming to the conference by yourself but don't like sightseeing alone?  Post a note on your conference's message board and see if you can find yourself a museum buddy, running partner or dinner date.
