I've just finished wrapping up Update 4 of Solution Manager Expert, and as I wrote in my letter to the subscribers, there's a clear winner when it comes to which topic is trending this month: Change Request Management (ChaRM).
In nearly every reader survey we conduct, subscribers say that ChaRM is in their top three most important Solution Manager topics - if not number one. We've definitely taken note of this statistic, and Update 4 is a very ChaRM-centric issue as a result. I'll give you a quick preview of the three new articles that focus on ChaRM - you can click on their titles to view them (full versions are available only to subscribers - click here for more information on that).
You can start with Cristiano Canzone's "Crossing Transport Request Boundaries with ChaRM," a primer on the basics of where ChaRM fits in your SAP landscape and how it can help you and your company. Then you can move on to Theo van Kaathoven's "Implement ChaRM ‘Light’ to Ease Your ChaRM Implementation." Theo describes a way you can implement a very bare-bones version of ChaRM called ChaRM 'light' if you aren't sure if your team has the time to complete a full implementation. Finally, Avrohom Weissman's "A Guide to Improving Screen Layouts in ChaRM" contains helpful tips on making your screen layouts more user-friendly. (You can also apply the tips he gives in this article to Service Desk.)
If you work with Solution Manager, do you agree that ChaRM information is in-demand? Or is there something else you think is much more pressing? Feel free to leave me any comments or insight you might have.
