The future of mobile SAP?

Well, since my last blog about CRM, there's certainly been a major announcement -- on May 12, SAP revealed that it purchased Sybase for $5.8 billion. I'll be interested to see what comes of this merger, as my last blog indicated.

So far, I've noticed that SAPPHIRE NOW attendees on Twitter -- quite a formidible group -- are buzzing about whether the move to make SAP's applications available on any kind of smartphone or mobile device is "the future"...or something that we still need to be cautious about. Many people are hopeful that enterprise integraiton with mobile devices will go smoothly. Sybase will remain its own independent unit within SAP; its formal name will be "Sybase, an SAP company."

CRM Expert plans to test the water in the near future with articles on Sybase's mobile CRM solution. We'll also add even more mobile CRM articles. If all goes well, SAP's purchase of Sybase could add a whole new dimension to mobile applications and expand the usability and power of SAP CRM.
