Cole Porter once penned a popular tune, “I love Paris in the springtime.” So do 700+ SAP logistics, supply chain, PLM, manufacturing, and procurement customers who have convened her for the co-located Logistics & Supply Chain 2011, PLM 2011, Manufacturing 2011, and Procurement 2011 conferences.
This event is attended by customers all over the world---today alone, I spoke with SAP customers from Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Turkey, Russia, and Jordan. I even met a woman from the United States who couldn’t make the US-based event in Orlando and came all the way to Paris so as not to miss it this year. The conference is truly global.
So, what’s on everyone’s mind? Judging from the most popular pre-conference sessions, warehouse and inventory management, SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM), SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and production planning/demand scheduling (PP/DS) are high on the list. Attendees have turned out for these sessions in droves, and it will be interesting to see if those topics continue to draw high numbers over the next three days.
Tomorrow’s agenda kicks off with a special keynote presentation by SAP executives Lori Mitchell-Keller and Emiel van Schalk. Also open tomorrow are brand new labs where customers can learn about and test drive SAP’s latest procurement sourcing solutions. The Exhibit Hall will be fully open for networking and business, with a spe
cial networking cocktail reception.
Please come back tomorrow, at which time I’ll share keynote highlights, insights into what customers are here to learn, and news from the exhibit hall floor. Until then, goodbye, ciao, adios, auf wiedersehn, farvel, hej da, elveda, paka, ma’a assalaama, and of course, au revoir!
