Tip Doctor, Insider Learning Network.

This SAP CRM tip comes from an article written by Vishal Mani, lead consultant, and Bhanupratap Singh, consultant, at Infosys Technologies, Ltd. The advice was posted in March 2011 to CRM Expert, the leading independent online knowledgebase for professionals who manage and support SAP CRM activities.

SAP CRM provides the ability to maintain email templates in different languages via the Email Response Management System. Using this functionality, the system picks the right template automatically based on the recipient’s communication language selected in the business partner record. Follow these steps to set up a language template:

1. After creating an email template, click the More drop-down menu and select Translate (Figure 1).

Figure 1: Select the Translate option from the drop-down menu

2. In the screen that comes up, select the language you want to use from the Translate Info drop-down menu. You then automatically return to the prior screen.

3. SAP CRM does not support conversion of text from one language to another. The user can copy and paste the localized language in the text field (Figure 2).
