Setting up a cross-system automated testing solution that connects to Solution Manager

by Scott Priest, Managing Editor

August 10, 2011

The latest article published to Solution Manager Expert is the final piece of a three-part series we've run on automated testing. Testing is of course something that's necessary for any company that wants to make sure it's business processes are running properly in systems, and allowing SAP Solution Manager to help monitor this can provide big benefits.

Brikena Berisha of Corealm Consulting has put together a system involving SAP Quality Center by HP, SAP Test Acceleration and Optimization, HP QuickTest Professional, and SAP Solution Manager. In parts 1 and 2, she walked through the process to connect Quality Center and Solution Manager and then installing and setting up SAP TAO and QTP. In part 3, "Define Test Requirements and Create and Execute Test Components as Part of Your Automated Testing Solution", she looks at the test requirements and components, and then tying the whole solution back to Solution Manager.

After you've finished up setting up the solution, you can see test results in each of the three programs. Below are example screenshots so you can compare them.

The final part of the article transfers these test results to SAP Solution Manager to complete the procedure.
