Doug Whittle of Whittle Consulting predicts 2012 will be the year when SAP users stop standing on the sidelines and citing the economic challenges as a reason for not moving forward and start more strategic and more visionary.
Specifically for SAP users that means:
1. Adding new functionality to their SAP environments and
2. Focusing on transferring more knowledge and skills within their organizations.
With more employees changing jobs and approaching retirement age, companies are going to start asking what they are doing to transfer their knowledge from more senior employees near retirement to younger employees, Whittle says.
In a recent podcast, Whittle reported being "very encouraged by the questions I've been getting from clients and participants at conferences who are starting to get back into strategic planning at a much greater depth again as well. I'm very encouraged by that."
Whittle also provided his outlook for super user programs in 2012 on the podcast as well as a review of the biggest trends he saw in 2011.
