I had a chance today to look over the schedule for SAP's booth activities at the HR 2011, Financials 2011, GRC 2011 conference in Las Vegas. These activities are a good guide to what SAP is focusing on at all levels of the customer organization, rather than focusing entirely on high-level strategic information. They are also a good chance for attendees to meet and engage with top SAP consultants.
Some of the activities are relatively informal, such as the morning coffee meet-and-greet in the mornings on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Others, such as a discussion on SAP upgrade tools (Tuesday at 12 p.m.), are more focused on offering specific solutions to customer needs.
Migration to the "new" GL remains a hot area for SAP Financials practitioners, so SAP's Jim Goodman is leading several sessions on best practices for that. For HR professionals, SAP's Carla Brown is also leading an overview of predefined services on Wednesday and Thursday (stop by the booth for times).
For those working in the governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) arena, SAP's GRC services leadership team will be available from 11:30 to 12 p.m. on Wednesday to answer questions and offering guidance on technical issues. The team will also be giving a sneak preview of GRC 10.0 on Tuesday afternoon from 5:30 to 6 p.m.
I'm always impressed with SAP's presence on site at SAPinsider events, and I encourage attendees to take advantage of the opportunity to meet them in person.
