Last year's SAPPHIRE NOW saw the introduction of roundtable discussions, which were very popular and have been expanded into interactive "microforums" this year. The format is similar--sit around a table and listen to experts talk about the latest developments in SAP technology. But this year, the forums have been formalized and included as "sessions" on the SAPPHIRE NOW agenda, and customers are attending in droves.
So far, the most popular microforums have been in the area of business analytics and SAP BusinessObjects--no surprise. Especially hot topics included dashboards with SAP BusinessObjects 4.0, as well as SAP BusinessObjects EIM 4.0 data services.
The functional topics have also been extremely well attended. There was standing room only at microforums on strategic workforce planning (HR), financial shared services, planning (finance), manufacturing execution for discrete industries, and logistics and fulfillment. Customers are also flocking to procurement and SRM microforums, with especially good attendance at supplier and cusotmer collaboration forums and SRM upgrades.
Customers seem to enjoy having an opportunity to learn as well as ask questions and engage in discussion with each other and with the SAP experts leading the microforums. I look forward to sharing more tomorrow.
