So you want to be an SAP HR consultant. Great. Now what?
Well there's good news and bad news, according to Greg Newman, an SAP HR consultant and advisor to HR Expert I recently interviewed (hear the podcast here). The good news is, Newman says being an SAP HR consultant is a challenging and rewarding endeavor. You're working with businesses to help them solve their talent issues and you're tasked with developing creative blends of process and technology.
The bad news? It's not easy to break into. Even more than some other areas of the SAP world, HR is a very unique and specialized area and "to get that break in, you really need to have some domain expertise and undersand the point of the [HCM] system."
But there's (more) good news. In the podcast Newman provides some very useful tips including two specific paths that you can head off on to become an SAP HR consultant.
