In my first podcast with independent analyst Jon Reed of JonERP.com, he pointed out that you don't necessarily want "rock stars" on IT project teams. "You don't want to bring in some kind of Eddie Van Halen guitar solo virtuoso SAP person" to an SAP project team, he joked.
Strangely, only weeks later, SAP announced that Van Halen would be the musical act at this year's SAPPHIRE NOW ASUG annual conference, sending rock waves across the SAP universe. Coincidence? I'll let you be the judge.
But at the very least, you'll want to check out my second podcast with Reed and listen for more spot-on predictions and inside skinny.
In this interview, the SAP mentor provides his insights on:
- The future of ABAP in a cloud and mobile world
- The skills you need to manage big data
- Where SAP professionals should be focusing their social media efforts
- The value of becoming a super user as a career stepping stone

And if you have topics or questions you'd like to hear Reed respond to, just post them as comments on this page and I'll throw them at Reed in our next podcast. (But please, no "Van Hagar" requests. We all have our limits.).
