Due to a hiring surge about 30 years ago, companies in the utility industry are preparing for turnover as many of their employees approach retirement age. Snohomish County Public Utility District (Snohomish PUD), which serves electric and water customers in Washington, turned to SAP SuccessFactors solutions to modernize its HR processes, attract tech-savvy new hires, and automate tedious manual work. Self-service capabilities were also delivered to empower employees and free up the HR department to focus on strategic planning. The company used a wave approach to ensure employee adoption and gradually familiarize its employees with the new technology. With its employee data recorded in SuccessFactors, Snohomish PUD has reaped the benefits of a centralized repository of employee information, including increased transparency and improved reporting.
