Since SAP announced it wants to lead the market in master data synchronization to help customers achieve lower TCO, SAP NetWeaver MDM has been back on customers’ radars. But, according to analysts, SAP still needs to solve several problems with its NetWeaver MDM products and strategy. In particular, customers say it's too difficult to integrate data from disparate sources in the SAP NetWeaver BW database. The plan is to leverage technology from the BusinessObjects side (ie, SAP BusinessObjects Data Services) to help solve these problems.
So, what do you think of SAP's plan? Will it solve everything bad about data integration? Or will it bring on a new set of integration issues all its own (between SAP NetWeaver MDM and SAP BusinessObjects Data Services)?
We want to know what you think! We're currently planning the 2010 Reporting & Analytics program, so if you’re experiencing (or anticipating!) data integration challenges and need help overcoming them, tell us more so we can build the program to meet your needs!
In the meantime, it’s worth checking out a new 'how-to' guide that SAP just published (as part of a series), for an in-depth picture of current integration scenarios: bit.ly/a7DBeM
