Introducing SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration

Business processes play a key role in a number of SAP applications, especially ones such as SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management (SAP NetWeaver BPM) and SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI). But even with those solutions, companies found there was still room for improvement in the efficiency of the business processes, both from a technical implementation and integration standpoint.

SAP is addressing this need by introducing a combined installation called SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration. This option includes the two solutions above along with SAP NetWeaver Business Rules Management. In his latest SAP Professional Journal article, Solve Business Process Implementation and Integration Problems with SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration, SAP's chief product expert Volker Stiehl introduces this new option. The strength, Volker says, is that you can go beyond thinking of integration-centric processes (ones that are mostly automatic) and human-centric processes (ones that are mostly manual). In the past, SAP NetWeaver BPM covered the manual processes and SAP NetWeaver PI worked on the automated ones. With the latest improvements, they can all work together.
