When a typical businessperson hears the term "e-invoicing" they probably think of technology--XML, EDI, SAP SCM, and the rest of the acronyms that go along with that technology. And rightly so. There's a lot of technology required to successfully move to e-invoicing.
But as Steve Sprague, vice president of marketing & product strategy at Invoiceware International, points out in our recent interview, there is more to successful e-invoicing than JUST technology. Regulatory and compliance issues can vary dramatically from region to region and country to country. And overlooking those subtleties can be the difference between your truck leaving the dock on-time and sitting idle for several days while paperwork is clarified.
Sprague has particular expertise in the Latin American market and provides some very practical tips and suggestions for implementing e-invoicing in the region, using real-world examples to illustrate the importance of these best practices.
